Camille is one of the protagonists of the Sky Dancers animated series.

History[]

Camille was born into a family of successful lawyers. However, Camille grew up wishing to be a dancer, and managed to convince her parents to let her join High Hope Dance Academy. The "modern dance aficionado," Camille had never let her parents see her dance as they believed her dreams of professional dancing to be childish.

During one of High Hope Dance Academy's first major performances, Camille noticed that Dame Skyla had disappeared. She, along with her classmates Angelica, Jade, Slam, and Breeze, found the headmistress in the music box room. Skyla revealed the truth to her students: she is Queen Skyla of the Wingdom. Because Skyclone had returned, she needed the students' help. Skyla gave each of them a Rite of Flight Feather, allowing them to transform into Sky Dancers. Camille was one of the first to discover her special Power Move, the ability to manipulate the shape of clouds and create physical "sculptures" into any form she imagined. She used her newfound ability to help drive off Skyclone and his Horrorcanes from the Wingdom.[1]

Camille continued serving as a Sky Dancer while remaining a student at High Hope Dance Academy. As her dancing skills improved, she was invited by Queen Skyla to teach her moves to the Wingdom. This led to Camille meeting the shapeshifter Gorp, who had initially joined Skyclone's forces. However, Gorp left Skyclone's employ when he developed feelings for Camille, though he was hesitant to reveal his true form to her.[2]

During a performance with Slam, Camille was noticed by filmmaker Quentin Cappuccino, who hired the two for roles in his new movie. Camille and Slam temporarily left the Sky Dancers to pursue their acting careers. However, after a tantrum by one of the film's stars halted production, Camille realized they had made a mistake and she and Slam returned to the team.[3]

Camille011

At one point, Camille began dating fellow student Tom, though he dumped her for being overly dramatic. Depressed at being dumped, Camille began eating junk food and gaining weight. This impacted Camille's flight and abilities as a Sky Dancer until the Tinker assisted her.[4]

Her parents eventually realized how important dancing was to Camille after a performance of The Nutcracker, and supported her career choice.[5]

Appearance[]

Camille is a slender Creole girl with long brown hair and green eyes. She wears a pink midriff top with a white jacket and pink skirt with turquoise leggings as a civilian. She also wears a gold star necklace and matching earrings. As a Sky Dancer, she wears a one-shouldered turquoise and pink outfit with a blue streak in her hair. She has pink wings with a yellow and turquoise cloud-like pattern near the tips. While she retains her star earrings, she is no longer wearing the star necklace as a Sky Dancer and instead has a gold star in her hair.

Personality[]

Camille is a confident and compassionate individual. However, Camille can sometimes be overly emotional or sensitive, especially when it comes to her love interests. Camille is also one of the most creative and artistic members of the Sky Dancers, reflected in her power move to create cloud sculptures.

Powers and abilities[]

Camille added the ability to create cloud sculptures from Queen Skyla after becoming a Sky Dancer. She uses this power to create illusions that confuse or trap her enemies. She most often conjures a cage to capture Skyclone or his minions. She must always perform her modern dance before she is able to use her clouds.

Like all Sky Dancers and denizens of the Wingdom, Camille has the ability to fly using her wings.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Both of Camille's parents are lawyers and are, at first, unwilling to support their daughter's career choice. However, Camille won them over after her performance in High Hope's version of The Nutcracker.

Friends[]

Camille is good friends with all of the Sky Dancers, particularly Jade and Angelica.

Romance[]

Unlike the other Sky Dancers, Camille has no romantic feelings for any of her teammates. Instead, Camille first felt attracted to the shapeshifter Gorp, who had been working for Sky Clone. Although their meeting ended with Camille saying she'd never forget him, she later began dating her classmate Tom. He ended the relationship after he felt there was nothing between them, sending Camille into a depression that led her to gain weight.
